DID YOU KNOW… that the price of a Catholic Education at St. Patrick’s School for a family with one child is $11.88/day, two children is $10.74/day per child, three children is $9.72/day per child, and four children is $8.80/day per child?  Consider the value of this if you are paying for childcare.  In the opinion of most, this is an even better deal when you consider that each child is getting a challenging academic education that is in a faith-based environment, where good behavior skills are taught and expected daily.

INFORMATION ON THE NEW BUILDING PROGRESS – The progress is continuing as the winter weather makes its way.  The exterior walls on the lower level are up, and studs on the lower level are being installed for drywall.  Temporary walls are being erected in front of the Preschool and Mrs. Hasty’s classroom.  The staff bathroom is roughed in across the hall from the RF and School offices.  Our hope is to pour 2/3 of the upper level by early next week. Let’s hope that forecasts for winter weather this weekend do not hold true. Please pray for the continued success of our Capital Campaign and for all the people that are diligently working towards the development at St. Patrick’s Catholic School. Updated pictures can be seen at www.stpatselkhorn.org.

GETTING TO SCHOOL ON TIME – It is very important that parents and children work together to arrive to school by 7:55am.  The traffic flow has been great! For morning traffic, cars MUST ALWAYS enter the north access road and MUST always leave the southwest exit.  No Exceptions!  Thank you for cooperation.

CALLING THE OFFICE – It is very important that you contact the school office if your child will be late or absent from school.  You can contact the office by emailing sgrewe@stpatselkhorn.org & kmoritz@stpatselkhorn.org  or by calling the school office at 289-5407. Please make this call or email by 8:30am.

WILL YOUR CHILD BE READY FOR THE COLD WINTER? – The cold weather is here to stay for awhile.  The students at St. Patrick’s generally go outside for recess and PE Class as long as it is above 20 degrees.  Please be certain your child is dressed for this.  A winter coat, gloves/mittens, a hat and possibly a scarf is recommended for their warmth.  Often time’s students need a sweatshirt or sweater for extra warmth while in the classroom.  Our policy at St. Patrick’s is that in this case, they still must be in school uniform.  Each child should have a school sweater as part of their uniform, or you may purchase a school sweatshirt at Midwest Impressions, both of those articles can me worn in the classroomAs far as keeping legs warm (i.e. girls wearing skirts/skorts).  Navy and white tights may be worn.  Leggings or sweatpants may be put on prior to going outside for recess /PE, but must be taken off once inside the classroom. If you have questions about this policy, the Family Handbook can be found on the school website.  Please see that your child/children have these cold weather necessities!

HOME AND SCHOOL MEETING - is canceled for the month of December.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? – Meet the 2008-2009 St. Patrick’s Football Coach, Mike Robinson, on Monday, December 17th, from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Math/Science classroom, located on the lower level in the school.  This is open to all current 6th and 7th grade boys and their parents in St. Patrick’s Parish as well as anyone who would like to learn more about the start up this sport.
