2008-2009 REGISTRATION FORMS SENT HOME TODAY - The registration form asking that you state your plans as to which of your children will attend St. Patrick’s School next school year went home today with your oldest and only child. The form must be returned by February 19th with a check for the registration fee attached.  Please make checks payable to St. Patrick’s School for $100 per student. The Parish Finance committee plans to finalize and approve the budget by May.  They do however expect the tuition and book fees to increase at a rate similar to that in the past.  The new Math series directly affects book expenses.  Another consideration being looked at closely is the cost of operating our new addition. Your support and understanding of this and all that you do is greatly appreciated.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS – During this Lenten season, Fr. Dan Lenz, from Mount Michael will be here to lead us in the Stations of the Cross on the following Fridays, Feb. 22nd, 29th,  Mar 7th, 14th and on Wednesday, Mar. 19th. All family, friends and parishioners are welcome to join us!

MAGAZINE RENEWALS TO BENEFIT ST. PAT’S - Mark your calendar for March 7th-17th. St. Patrick’s School will hold a Magazine Subscription/Renewal Drive to raise money to purchase equipment and materials for our new Library Media Center to open in the fall. (Materials needed include: barcode scanner, magazine covers, book repair materials, projector, and much more).   We are teaming up with QSP and it couldn’t be simpler.  More details are to come soon, but until then, be sure to hold off renewing those magazine subscriptions until March 7-17.

YOUR COOPERATION IS APPRECIATED - Thanks goes to all of you for following the regulation of entering the school in the morning at the North Access Road and not coming in at the east entrance.  It is imperative that we continue this for the safety of us all!  You will be notified when this entrance becomes functional.

ST. PATRICK’S BOYS 7th & 8th GRADE FOOTBALL TEAM INFO - Our sign up date for 7th & 8th grade tackle football is Feb 19th from 6:30-7:30 in the gym hallway at St Patrick’s.  Uniforms and equipment will also be fitted at this time.  We will have an 8 to 10 game schedule in the P.A.L. league which is comprised of 12 Catholic Grade Schools in the Omaha area. The cost will be $125.00 dollars and will include helmets.

TRACK & FIELD TEAM - NEW SPRING SPORT - The St. Patrick's Athletic Committee is pleased to announce the addition of a Track & Field team to our program starting this March.  The team will be open to any 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students of our 5-day school or RF program.  The team will compete in the Parochial Athletic League (PAL).  Registration has already begun at our online site listed below.  Any questions with registration should be directed to Lynette Davis (402)496-0764Come and find out about this challenging sport, and/or register now at the following link: http://stpatselkhorn.org/athletics/Athleticsindex.cfm.

ST. PATRICK’S ANNUAL FISH FRY – St. Patrick’s Men’s Club will hold their annual Fish Fry in the Parish Center on Friday’s during Lent (February 15th through March 14th).  They will serve Catfish and/or Pollack Fillets from 5pm to 8pm.  Adults are $8 and children ages 4 to 12 are $4. 3 yrs old and under are free.  Cheese pizza and Mac-n-Cheese will  be available as well.

DESSERTS FOR THE LENTEN FISH FRYS - The St. Pat’s Men’s Club will once again hold a Lenten Fish Supper each Friday night during Lent. We ask all parishioners to help supply the dessert for these suppers. We request that each family bring a pie, small cake, dessert bars, or other dessert (about 6 to 10 servings) to the parish center on the Friday designated by the first letter of your last name on the following schedule. Each family will have to donate only one week.

Together we can all make a difference in our community. Thank you for your help.
