St. Patrick’s Elementary School

School Board Minutes

September 12, 2005

 

 

Present: Cindy Engel, Kimberly Fangman, Pat Adler, Angela Davidson, Steve Morrissey, Mike Socha, Bob Wolf, and Don Ridder.  The meeting was opened with a prayer led by Steve Morrissey.

 

Approval of Minutes:  Minutes from August 8, 2005 meeting were approved with minor revisions.

 

Committee Assignments:

              Policy: Kim Fangman, Pat Adler

              Funding/Development: Mike Socha, Charles Olson

              Facilities: Steve Morrissey, Cindy Engel

`             Curriculum: Bob Wolf, Mark Baumert, Cindy Engel

              Safety: Pat Adler, Steve Morrissey

              Textbook Loan: Kathy Riddle

 

Home and School Report: Angela Davidson reported:

              *Increased turnout for first meeting

              *H & S spent $1200 to buy music instruments and supplies

              *Parish Carnival (reported by Cindy Engel) raised $3000

              *Book Fair & Library has raised $3200 (Amy McCauliffe)

Parish Pastoral Council: The Board is still working to identify a liaison with the Parish Pastoral Council.

 

Religious Formation:  No report

 

Committee Reports:

              Continuous Improvement-Next meeting 9/13

              Finance/Development-No Report

              Facilities: Brainstorming possible solutions for future space needs

              Personnel: 2nd Grade TA switch from Chris Smith (resigned due to adoption of baby) to Kim Blankely (brought to us courtesy of Hurricane Katrina) and new 3rd grade TA is Linda VonDolan

              Safety: Notes from Sept 8 meeting:

                            *St. Patrick students will not be allowed to cross Maple

                            *Officer Mike Bratcher, EPD, stopped by to offer his services

                            * Traffic flow is improving before and after school

                            *Construction on the intersection (Maple & 31) will begin in the Spring of 2007  

 

 

Principals Report:

*The school raised $ 3400 in Katrina Relief which was donated to Catholic Charitites     

*Staff is working to set individual goals

*Stewardship-We need to continue to find ways to invite more people to become involved with the school/parish.  We will be handing out commitment cards.

              *Parent Volunteering Ad Hoc Committee added Angela Davidson

 

A motion was made by Pat and seconded by Mike and the meeting was adjourned with a prayer
