St. Patrick’s School Board Minutes

Nov.14th, 2005

 

Members Present: Mike Socha, Steve Morrissey, Kim Fangman, Cindy Engel, Pat Adler, Jackie Coco (Religious Ed.), Bob Wolf, and Don Ridder, Charlie Olson, John Dunn (Development)

Meeting opened with a prayer by Steve

 

Minutes: “Kim” Fangman

              Mike moved, Chuck seconded to accept minutes with changes.

 

Home and School:

*Hand in Hand printing to be underwritten by Gallup

* Book Fair rose over $9000-thanks to Amy Mcauliffe and the committee

              *$25,000 in scrip sales-spooky scrip sales-promotion

              *Box Tops- $1000

              *Burger King-family night Nov. 22nd at 132nd and Maple

             

Parish Pastoral Council Report-

                             Liaison?

 

Religious Formation-

              *441 students served

              * Faith, Family, and Fun night Wednesday Nov. 9th

              *Nov. 16th starts Advent Angel program

Pastor’s Report-None

 

Committee Representatives

              *Continuous Improvement- Questionnaires out

 

*Development/Finance

              *63% of pledged money has been received

                            *Estate distribution from Boland estate will probably be received the first quarter of next year

                            *50 new school families being contacted

                            *Contacts for new church members upcoming

                            *Targeted mailing for specific members of the parish

*Census-709 families entered into new data base (75% of school)

                            *Stewardship cards returned-increased involvement equates increased giving

                            *103 Archdiocesan stewardship cards $18,610

                            *Cross generations newsletter continued

              *Dinner/auction prep going well. Pre-event- St. Pat’s Sat. Jan. 14th at Parish center

              *School tithing report-68 families do not give/do not give consistently/have not pledged. We will be sending out a letter to remind them of their obligations.

              *Board policy regarding parish membership and tuition rates revisited. The board voted unanimously to continue enforcing this policy.

              *Volunteering ad hoc committee-still gathering information

 

*Facilities

              *New parish administration offices are open

              *Ram Hingorani has been doing the parish office construction as have

              *John Sabaliauskas and Steve Thompson.

*Curriculum

*halfway through the review of science Curriculum, should be finished by

January

*Math curriculum is being expanded to earlier levels.

*Safety

              *Discussed fencing the parking lot/playground area on the Southeast side of church.

              *Discussed moving playground to West side of building

              *Complaints about pictures are up.  Ad-hoc committee to look at pictures was formed.

*Plans for next year

              *Boland hall-moving from 2 to 3 rooms

              *Mr. Valish's room-could it be divided?

Principal’s report

              *ITBS scores distributed and discussed

              *Pat Breinig hired as the tech coordinator

              *Student Council will report next month

             

 

Adjournment: Pat moved and Cindy seconded and meeting was adjourned with a prayer
