School Board Minutes

August 8, 2005

Present: Cindy Engel, Kimberly Fangman, Pat Adler, Angela Davidson, Steve Morrissey, Charlie Olson, Mike Socha, Bob Wolf

Approval of Minutes:  Minutes from May 9, 2005 meeting were approved with minor revisions.

Officer Elections: School Board officers for 2005-2006 were elected.

              President-Steve Morrissey

              Vice-President- Mike Socha

              Secretary-Bob Wolf

Home and School Report: Angela Davidson gave the Board a detailed report on monies spent by Home and School to benefit the school

The Board passed a motion directing Home and School to publish the financial report.

Home and school will be active in the organization and running of the parish carnival.

Parish Pastoral Council: No report.  Due to Natalie McNeil retirement from the school board the board will need to identify a new liaison.

Religious Formation:  No report

Committee Reports:

              Continuous Improvement-The continuous improvement committee is in the process is in the process of forming a questionnaire to solicit feedback related to the learning environment.

              Finance/Development-Charlie Olson gave an initial report on the golf outing.  There was increased sponsorship and the turnout was lower. The board discussed several factors that may have influenced the turnout including day of week, proximity to the Cox Classic, etc.

Principals Report:

              Personnel- Don is in the process of hiring a 3rd grade TA

                                   Don gave us a copy of this year’s in-service schedule

              Parent Volunteering-The Board held a lengthy discussion regarding parent volunteering and accountability.  We decided to form an ad hoc committee to investigate possible solutions.  Pat and Cindy agreed to be on the committee.

A motion was made and seconded (sorry I didn’t record by whom) and the meeting was adjourned with a prayer
