  Mrs. Sally Johnson - 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade Spanish Teacher

¡Hola!

Let me introduce myself.  I am Sally Johnson, mother of Hunter, Blake and Jaedyn all who attend St. Patrick's School.  When I was young, my mother instilled a sense of pride in my Hispanic culture.  It is because of this that I feel privileged to share the language and culture that I have been exposed to with your children.

My experience has included 2 years in United States Army (No Joke), 5 years as a certified Teacher at Boys Town, and more recently as a language associate with the Elkhorn Public Schools, teaching Spanish to grades 1-5 and tutoring high school students in Spanish 1 and 2.  My top list of priorities is Faith, Family, and Friends.  I also enjoy exercise and music of all kinds.

Ms. Alena Keene - Kindergarten & 5th Grade Spanish Teacher

I am very happy to be a part of St. Patrick’s School!  The warm, welcoming and supportive environment at St. Patrick’s of which I will soon be a part, is a teacher’s dream come true!

I was fortunate to spend two unforgettable years in Madrid, Spain.  I worked as an assistant English teacher in a public bilingual primary school. I was able to travel throughout much of western Europe. I returned to take one year of graduate courses and teach intensive basic Spanish as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Kansas at Lawrence, I look forward to returning to Omaha to teach Spanish at St. Patrick’s and pursue a Master’s in Language Teaching at UNO.  I grew up in southeastern Nebraska in the small town of Union, and I graduated from Nebraska City High School.  In May 2007, I completed my undergraduate work with a BA from Creighton University.

Teacher education at Creighton emphasized the importance of not only focusing on the academic needs of students, but also their spiritual and moral needs.  The staff at St. Patrick’s also emphasizes character development and spiritual growth so that students become virtuous, hard-working, compassionate, intellectual citizens; and I cannot wait to be part of the team!

¡Hasta pronto!
