7th Grade Language ArtsThe 7th grade student at St. Patrick’s will actively participate in a challenging, learning environment. He/she will compile research, parse with confidence, write to inform, entertain, persuade, and compare/contrast. Students will read from many genres, demonstrating appreciation and comprehension. He/she will also create critiques, summaries, and essays related to readings. The student will plan, draft, proofread (self & peer), and finalize essays with a minimum requirement of 2-pages, typed (double-spaced), showing maturity by incorporating upper-level vocabulary and sentence structure. The student will create corresponding materials and/or PowerPoint presentations as a part of his/her presentation. Each student will listen critically and express opinions in oral presentations.
