4th Grade
Deb Brown, one of our fourth grade teachers, loves being able to share her faith with her students. That is precisely why she felt called to join the St. Patrick’s family in 2004. She spends a lot of time developing lessons to fit the needs of her students, and challenges them to be their best academically, spiritually and behaviorally. She really appreciates the willingness of staff and parents to collaborate and share ideas and strategies. The atmosphere St. Patrick's is always positive which allows all students to experience and celebrate success. Deb was born and raised in Minnesota and completed two years of undergraduate course work in Chemistry at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota. She married her husband Mark in 1989, and moved to Nebraska to complete her Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Science in Reading at the University of Nebraska Omaha. She taught fourth and second grades at Jefferson Elementary in OPS from 1994-1997 and has taught third and fourth grades at St. Patrick’s. In her free time, Deb loves to spend time with her husband Mark and their four children. She also enjoys: reading, developing web pages, crafts, watching baseball, sewing, traveling, scrap booking and golf.
I graduated in 1993 from the University of Nebraska- Kearney, with a BA in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. I taught 4th Grade from 1996 to 2000 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School in Omaha. I had the opportunity to stay home for the last eight years to raise my children, and during that time taught CCD at St. Patrick’s Church in Gretna.
My experience teaching in a Catholic School was a wonderful, positive experience for me. Catholic Schools provide a close, caring, faith-filled environment that makes teaching so rewarding. I really feel “at home” in a Catholic School. I am so thrilled about being a part of St. Patrick’s School/Staff. I had an opportunity to substitute teach during the 2007-2008 school year, and everyone was so helpful and friendly to me. I’ve really enjoyed working with the students; they are a great group of kids.
My husband, Jon, and I have been married for 13 years, and have three children; Audrey 10, Brady 7, and Olivia 6. We live in Gretna, and are parishioners at St. Patrick’s Church in Gretna. Kathleen has been a member of St. Pat’s parish since 1978. Being raised here, she and her husband, Mickey, were naturally drawn to educating their children at St. Pat’s. They have two children, Devon and Nolan. They enjoy the nurturing and special way each child is made to feel.
Mickey and Kathleen make their living at farming and owning a car wash. Kathleen’s hobbies include horses, decorating, gardening, and pretty much anything she can try to fix or improve. They really enjoy being around their wonderful diverse group of friends.
Kathleen was a stay-at-home mom from 1997 to 2005. Being given the opportunity to work with the St. Pat’s children was wonderful. Every day she is greeted with smiles and hugs from the students, and she couldn’t say enough about the supportive staff at St. Pat’s.
I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha with a business degree, specializing in both marketing and management. I worked at Mutual of Omaha and Epsen Hillmer Graphics before becoming a stay-at-home mom for 12 years. In 2008, I joined the staff at St. Patrick’s. My husband, Charley, and I have three children, Lauren, Aubrey and Collin who attend St. Pat’s. We all feel very blessed to be a part of this wonderful school and parish!
