1st Grade
Tara Frank, one of our 1st grade teachers, loves being a part of St. Patrick's School. "Everyone here is so supportive and kind," she says. "I really feel as if I am teaching in a small town where everyone knows one another. With such a pleasant atmosphere, St. Patrick's School is inviting, comfortable, and a fun place to be!" After receiving her bachelor's degree from UNL, Tara taught fourth grade for one year in Macy, NE on the Omaha Indian Reservation. From there, she went to Plattsmouth, NE to teach at St. John the Baptist, where she instantly fell in love with Catholic schools. "I found it much easier to teach when I could tell the children the difference between right and wrong," Tara says. Tara began her journey at St. Patrick's in 2001. Her goals in the classroom are to provide children opportunities to grow spiritually, as well as academically. "I have found that the more I can get a student involved physically (by dancing, drawing, or movement of any kind), the more they seem to take from the lesson," Tara adds, "so I like to incorporate reading, writing, and movement into as many lessons as possible." When Tara is not in school, she spends time with her husband, Mark and their two children. She also enjoys scrap booking, camping, or relaxing out doors. In 1994 I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelor’s degree in Education-Speech Language Pathology. I then worked with adults with disabilities in a group home. In the fall of 1995 I attended Creighton University for two years and received a teaching certification. I then began my professional teaching career in the fall of 1997. I have been with Loveland Elementary for 10 wonderful years. I started my position as a resource teacher for grades kindergarten through sixth grade. I taught for a few years as a resource teacher and then switched to the kindergarten classroom. I have taught kindergarten for seven years. I am now ready for my new adventure! In my 10 years of teaching in a public school, I witnessed my students experiencing times of happiness, sorrow, separation and loss. All experiences are a result of God’s plan and its essential children know that God always loves us no matter what. I want to be able to reveal God’s love with my students; St. Patrick’s Catholic School provides me the opportunity to accomplish that with all my students. I am thrilled to become a member of St. Patrick’s staff. I have waited for this opportunity and the time has finally arrived to become a member of this teaching staff. My husband and I have been blessed with 3 beautiful children. Caroline, a second grader, and Jack, a first grader, are students at St. Patricks. Timmy, my four year old, attends preschool. My husband, Jeff, is a first grade teacher for Papillion-LaVista Schools. Education is very important to us, that is why we chose St. Patrick’s. We enjoy family outdoor adventures and our quiet movie nights as well.
Tracy received her B.A. in Education from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. She has several years of teaching experience in Catholic Schools. She taught preschool for three years in Falls City and fourth grade for three years at St. Joseph’s in Lincoln. She has taught kindergarten and first grade at St. Patrick’s. In her free time, Tracy likes to spend time watching her family participate in various activities.
My free time is spent with my husband Rick, our dog and cat. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first child this December. I also enjoy scrapbooking and spending time outdoors. I feel blessed to be a part of St. Patrick’s and look forward to what this experience has to offer.
“I have so much enjoyed working here at St. Patrick’s School. It’s so nice to see the caring, faith filled environment throughout the school.” I had worked in the insurance business for over 20 years, and decided to make a complete change in what I do. I have found this to be a very rewarding job, working with the young students, knowing I can be of help to them everyday is the best feeling. I was born and raised in Omaha, and went to Marian High School. My husband Mike and I have one child, Michael, who we consider to be our blessing. I enjoy running, traveling and spending time with friends and family. I feel I have acquired a new family here at St. Patrick’s, as the staff, students, parents, and Mr. Ridder have been so good to me and my family.
I graduated from Capital School of Esthetics and currently maintain my license as an Esthetician. I was previously employed as a Teacher's Assistant for children with special needs. I love working with young children and was a stay at home Mom for several years while raising our two children. I believe that it is just as important to build a child's character as it is to give them a solid education. It's great to be able to do this in a Catholic School environment where they can be taught right from wrong using God's word everyday! What a blessing it is to be a part of St. Patrick's School! I am so excited to begin working as a Teacher's Assistant for Mrs. Frank's first grade class! I enjoy working with children and look forward to seeing them grow both spiritually and academically! I can't wait to get to know all of the staff, students and families here! I am married and have two sons, Max and Carter who are 8 and 5! We love getting outside together riding bikes, going swimming and camping. When we aren't outside we enjoy time at home with friends and family.
