The Brownies Visit Ronald McDonald House
By Deb Brown
Brownie Troop 3435 visited the Ronald McDonald House on August 1st. They delivered the thousands of pop tabs St. Patrick’s students, parishioners, and Girl Scouts collected during the 2006-07 school year. The girls enjoyed a tour of the beautiful facility that becomes home for families whose children are receiving medical treatment here in Omaha. The donated pop tabs are recycled and netted over $18,000 in 2006. That was enough to pay the house’s electric bills for the entire year! Each year, the Ronald McDonald House in Omaha recycles 30-40 million tabs! Keep on saving your pop tabs please! You may send them to St. Patrick’s School office. Brownie Troop 3435 thanks you!
