In our parish, children typically celebrate 1st Reconciliation and 1st Eucharist in 2nd grade.  Children are Confirmed in 8th grade.  Since parents are the first and foremost catechists of their children, they are invited to share retreat experiences with their children, where they work one-on-one with their child who is preparing to receive the Sacraments.  We bring both the children of the 5-day school and the Religious Formation program together with their parents for these retreat experiences.  Not only is this a learning experience for the child and their parents, but time for fellowship is also built into the evening.
