Minutes for Home and School Assoc. October 06, 2006
Prayer for Teachers
Last meeting minutes review:
Note a correction of carnival expenses. Income closer to $4100 as expenses covered was closer to $10,100. Motion for approval by Staci approved by Kerry
President’s report – Joan Don has requested additional funds for technology. He is putting a list together for our review. V. President - School board meets next Monday and Staci will report next month.
Treasurer – Denise not present so no report at this time.
Secretary – minutes posted to Web site
After school events – no news on bowling yet
Book fair – all set for Oct. 17-24th
Box top – Diane reports over 10,000 already for 2006. Get them in now. She’ll be sending them in soon.
Grounds – e-note going out regarding lawn maintenance Home and School wants to be responsible for grounds only 3-4 months not the entire year. H&S to ask Men’s club to maintain a few months and the parish to do a few months. There will be an upcoming grounds maintenance clean-up day coming in October. Kerry will be asking Women’s club to designate H& S a month or two to support church cleaning. We have not been designated a time period up to this point.
Hot Lunch – still needs help on Mon. and Wed.; misc. committee members will be contacted
Safety – Denise reports fine in morning; afternoon reports – too many late arrivals; students will be held; you need to park in your lot
Younkers day – Nov. 11th
Public Relations – Hand in Hand is behind schedule but the first issue is being worked on and will be completed shortly.
Yearbook - Jostens representative spoke with Joan. There is no minimum price so we can order lower quantities. Will credit the last 2 years quantity that were not sold are being credited. Victoria Briachek will be working on the layout. A yearbook historian from each class will be solicited to gather photos and brief info on the photos.
SCRIP – lots of orders the first day of Spooky Scrip; get your orders in Business has easily doubled since the announcement of tuition reimbursement.
Old business
New business Third graders writing messages and sending a care package from the school to the Brian and Chris Morrisey family for Jack who is in Houston, TX receiving cancer treatment. Kerry Benes is coordinating this project. Send messages to the Yahoo Group. Yahoo Group will be working on a spreadsheet to update the group. An invite will be sent out to the members inviting them to the site.
